Why roof claims get denied
The most common reasons are damage judged to be wear and tear instead of storm damage, damage that costs less than the deductible, a claim filed late, or an inspection where nobody got on the roof. A proper reinspection tells you which one applies and whether it is worth pursuing.
What appraisal is
Most Texas homeowner policies include an appraisal clause. If you and your insurer agree the damage is covered but disagree on what it costs to fix, either side can invoke it. Each side hires an independent appraiser, the two choose an umpire, and an agreement by any two of the three sets the amount.
Appraisal settles the amount, not whether the damage is covered. We are not appraisers or adjusters, but our documentation is what your appraiser works from.
Questions about denied or low claim
Can you be my appraiser?
No. An appraiser has to be impartial, and a contractor who wants to build the roof is not. We give you and your appraiser the documentation.
Is appraisal the same as a lawsuit?
No. It is a process written into your policy to settle the amount of a covered loss. It does not decide whether the damage is covered.
How much does your help cost?
The reinspection is free. If the roof is approved and you hire us to build it, our price is in the contract like any other job.
