How the estimate works
We work out your roof area from the size of your home, how many stories it has and how steep the roof is, then add the overhang at the eaves. That area is converted to roofing squares and priced per square for the shingle you choose, including tear off of the old roof, new underlayment, flashing, vents and cleanup.
Steeper roofs take longer and need more safety equipment, and a second layer of old shingles adds to the tear off. Things the calculator cannot see, like rotten decking, skylights or chimney flashing, are priced in your written quote.

Calculator questions
How accurate is the calculator?
It gives a ballpark based on typical North Texas pricing for the size of home, pitch and shingle you choose. The real price depends on exact measurements, how many valleys and hips the roof has, and what we find under the old shingles, so your written quote after the free inspection is the number to rely on.
What is a roofing square?
Roofers price by the square, which is 100 square feet of roof surface. Because roofs are sloped and overhang the walls, a roof usually has more area than the floor plan of the home.
What if insurance is paying?
If your insurer approves the roof for storm damage, your share is normally your deductible plus any upgrades you choose. Texas law requires you to pay the deductible.
Do I have to give my phone number?
No. The calculator works without any details. If you want an exact price, book a free inspection.
